OXIDAL COOPERATING IN THE RESARCH OF THE POLYTECHNIC IN LAUSANNE

LOSANNA_A1.jpg

Oxidal is cooperating with EPFL - ICOM (Lausanne Polytechnic - Switzerland) in its research on the mechanical resilience of new adhesive and fully see-through connections between glass and metal (prevalently stainless steel, but also aluminum and titanium). The aim of the study is to identify the tools needed to design safe glass-steel structures with this type of see-through links. Different adhesives ensure top mechanical resistance and allow the full employment of external surfaces for the installation of solar panels, designs, silk-screen prints, signs and decorations, as no holes need be bored in the glass panes. Studs for adhesive bonds are sized according to the required load capacity.

The first prototype of articulated screw with glass adhesive was presented at the last MADE fair.
