5/17/2011 - SPECIAL PRODUCTS DEVELOPED FOR WINDOWS PROJECT
Nuova Oxidal participated in an indoor restoration project in downtown Milan for temporary offices designed to meet the need for small spaces with working areas and separate entrances in view of the future Expo. Nuova Oxidal worked in cooperation with Studio Vigo to create two special products, designed to meet specificproject requirements. _The first is a latch lock with electric connection and personalized closing knob with varnished finishing in Ral 9010 color. Its peculiarity is that the front piece hides the opening socket, thereby creating a streamlined and formally essential look without compromising the technical performance of the lock. _The second is a special hinge attached to a personalized jamb and a lightened corner so that the hinge appears to be separated from the glass wall. Besides these technical details, Nuova Oxidal also elaborated the hinge design, modifying it so as to reflect the geometrical and squared look of the lock designed by Studio Vigo.

5/17/2011 - TEACHING WORKSHOP AT POLITECNICO DI MILANO
On April 13th Nuova Oxidal participated in a teaching workshop addressing Politecnico students majoring in Structural Engineering-Architecture, within the “Course on Project Design of the building shells”. The topics dealt with during the workshop have been: Design and realization of special projects for light building shells of higher complexity in performance and architectural implications (skyscrapers, museums, libraries and special interest buildings). Nuova Oxidal provided a technological and consulting contribution, illustrating its products’ potential in meeting customized and personalized needs in order to respond to specific project requirements and meet even the most complex technical specifics.

Nuova Oxidal, consistently committed to the research and development of new products, has enriched its MINI series, a range of accessories designed for indoor partitions and interior design, with an AS05 4-arm support. Evolved from the AS01 4-arm support, AS05 presents the same design and technology, but made in plastic material, allows versatile applications as it reduces its visual impact and blends more smoothly with interior design while retaining a sufficient bearing capacity to support medium-sized glass panes. The AS05 mini support is guaranteed for loads up to 30kg and is especially suited for partitioning walls. With its constant evolution, consistent world-class quality in projects and production and focus on environmental sustainability, Oxidal confirms its mission to hitech architecture at MADE 2010. Within this annual event, especially for Civitas and in cooperation with the solar panels manufacturer Energy Glass of Como, Oxidal created a sunscreen system for flat facades. This screening system guarantees ideal conditions within, a comfortable micro-climate in the building through the optimization of solar energy and a reduction of energy use. The sunscreening panes, suitably installed with the Vetra System “spider” accessories, ‘trap’ sunshine and therefore reduce the use of heating. Nuova Oxidal has consistently satisfied a growing demand for solutions pertaining to the fixing of glass parapets and railings by providing a full range of accessories which combine the highest technological standards with versatile application potential and innovative aesthetic values. A careful study of mechanical resistance required by existing guidelines, together with attention to design, to a fully Made in Italy manufacturing process and a rigorous selection of materials have made SIRIO accessories a range of high added value. SIRIO supports can be employed in whatever outdoor and indoor environment and ensure bearing capacity and stability. The series includes several different supports: SIRIO A: support for wall fixing, in Inox 316 steel, fixes the glass through studs and is attached to the wall by means of plugs, ensuring a bearing capacity of 300 kg, and is therefore ideally suited for crowded environments requiring high resistance. SIRIO B: support for wall fixing, in aluminum, developed along the same design and technology as SIRIO A, but in a different material, ensuring a bearing capacity of 150 kg, ideally suited for private spaces and small parapets. SIRIO C: central clamp for glass parapet, with an adjustable wall fixing and a glass fixing both with or without notches. SIRIO C can be matched with SIRIO D: end clamps on the right and left hand. SIRIO C and D are made in aluminum and guarantee a bearing capacity of 200 kg.

Nuova Oxidal offers a new solution for the creation of self-supporting glass structures thorugh a range of articulated connections designed for a wide spectrum of applications in the production of small and medium sized structures, such as furniture, furniture components and entrance cabins. All supports are made in aluminum and are available in a range of finishings: silver, chrome, and acid-etched chrome. They are especially versatile and easy to use thanks to their joints and adjustability: they ensure the greatest possible flexibility in employment and allow to fix glass at any chosen angle. The range of articulated connections allows several different single and multiple fixings as follows: Art. 1010 articulated connection wall-glass Art. 1020 articulated connection glass-glass Art. 1030 articulated connection wall-glass-glass Art. 1040 articulated connection glass-glass-glass Art. 1050 articulated connection glass-glass-glass-glass Art. 1060 connection for tension rods/stability cables to be fixed directly onto the body of the attachment to add further stability to the structure.

12/15/2008 - Polidesign
Nuova Oxidal in cooperation with Politecnico di Milano and Texs consortium is organizing a specialization course for project, furnishing and building up of temporary spaces. As temporary spaces we mean all the spaces that at the present time require frequent renewal and constant flexibility: shops, exhibition points, shop corners, common areas etc. The course will be dedicated to 30 architects and will be proposed for three consecutive years. The course has been presented with a national press conference on September 25th, 2008.

11/15/2008 - Sirio
One of the last product presented by Nuova Oxidal is Sirio, a support for glass balusters realized in stainless steel 316 that grants a capacity of load of 150 Kg/each one, this value grants its use also in public places with high inflow. In private places or for small balusters, often this high capacity of load is not requested and the using of stainless steel is too expensive. For this reason a new support has be realized. Sirio B consist in the same support realized in aluminum, so to allow an important reduction of the cost of realization even maintain a capacity of load of 50 Kg/Each one (100 kgs. Each glass sheet).

Following the strong request of accessories for high thickness two series of hinges are been realized. Hinges are right for thickness till 24 mm and available in bottom and top version; both are realized with ball bearing that grants a capacity of load of 150 Kg. Bottom version has square pin for floorspring.

Nuova Oxidal have received from the city of Corbetta an acknowledgement award as being one of the most long standing activity in the local area. The production has begun on 1951. Mayor of Corbetta has consigned the award to the owner Mr. And Mrs. Baroni who have took over the activity on 1990.

Recently new accessories for handrails realization on glass balusters have been inserted in Vetra System range. A profile with mm 24x24 slot is available with the apposite lateral cups and gaskets for thickness adjusting.

1/15/2008 - Automatic Sliding
The prototype of the new series of accessories for automatic sliding doors has been presented in October. The system is based on the accessories for manual sliding system on which it will be possible to install the various accessories for automation. The system will be useful on inside doors with low opening frequency and could be equipped with remote control, photoelectric cell, or button.

10/8/2007 - Punctual fixing system for interior
One of the latest news presented on the market by the company is a complete range of accessories used for self loading glass structures, entrance halls and partition walls.The system was studied in cooperation with a designer who followed the aesthetic aspect obtaining a very good result on all the range. The supports are realized in aluminum and disposable in different finishing. Single and double attacks are available with wall, floor or glass fixing. The various accessories could be combined to obtain any type of connection with one, two, three of four ways. Thanks to a special fitting is also possible to use tension rods useful to give to all the structure more stability. All elements allow a high regulation and the fixing of the glass with any inclination.

The range of accessories for glass balusters is growing, farther to the Vetra System screws series, new supports was realized.Now is disposable Art. Sirio A, support with wall fixing, and soon will be available art. Sirio B, with floor fixing, and various accessories for handrails. The two types of supports should be combined to solve any kind of installation. Glass fixing is made by parallel bosses enough distant to grant a good resistance of the glass. The supports are realized in Aisi 316 stainless steel. The tests made on them grant a capacity of load of 150 Kgs. for vertical and horizontal charges. This value permits to use these accessories also in public places with high crowd where the impact strength and push resistance requested is usually 300 kg/ml.

Recently new mechanical resistance tests had been done on Vetra System accessories. The test made by an institute acknowledge on international level completed and confirmed the value granted by the previous test: 200 kgs. each arm for the supports and over 300 Kgs. for the articulated screws, values valid for both vertical and horizontal charge. Copies of the tests are available on request.
